Simulation and Modelling Engineer

Job Description

An exciting position has become available in the Simulation and Modelling team for a new Simulation and Modelling Engineer, reporting to the Head of Simulation and Modelling. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining our vehicle models and simulation toolset. We are looking for pragmatic engineers with the appropriate mathematical, modelling and vehicle dynamics skills along with the ability to write quality code in the desired environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the vehicle physics model and its sub-models to continuously meet the requirements simulation toolset.
  • Ensure on-going validation and correlation of the models to track and rig data to ensure robust validity of simulation results.
  • Research and use appropriate technologies to ensure the continuous development of our models and simulation tools to meet the engineering requirements of the Team.
  • Interact across the entire Team to provide tools and solutions to support objective technical decision making.

Candidate Profile

As well as being a passionate, hardworking team player, the ideal candidates will possess:

  • A mechanical or aeronautical engineering degree (preferably Masters) from a leading university or similar qualification is essential, but your skills, experience, ability to learn, energy and attitude are most important.
  • Excellent grounding in mechanics.
  • Conversant with engineering software tools and object-oriented coding languages.
  • Excellent communicative and collaborative skills are essential.
