Shock and Race Support Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY
Duties include preparation and maintenance of shock components and documenting shock combinations and set up. Responsible for testing shock performance and for utilizing shock dynamometer to adjust shocks to match desired specifications. Perform engineering tasks utilizing simulation and laboratory testing to develop performance. This position will support the race teams with interpreting and translating related data.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Responsible for utilizing engineering principles to enhance vehicle design and performance.
  • Build shocks in an efficient manner under critical time constraints.
  • Use shock dynamometer to adjust shocks to match desired specifications.
  • Utilize database to record measurements and track component mileage for reference.
  • Assist race teams in identifying the best shock combination for testing and utilization during race events.
  • Utilize simulation and laboratory equipment for performance development.
  • Support race teams through reports, data analytics, and other tasks pre, during, and post races.
  • Responsible for collecting and interpreting data and providing recommendations.
  • Any other duties as assigned by manager.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Required
Experience: 1+ years of relevant race experience; 2+ years engineering experience: Preferred
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Roehrig Software, and other related software knowledge.
Certifications & Licenses:
Other Requirements: Strong oral and written communication skills; Ability to work under pressure; Shock building knowledge preferred; Extensive knowledge of engineering principles; Predictive capability for dissembling and reassembling packages; Ability to work a flexible schedule; Must be able to travel to occasional testing; Requires a thorough understanding of mechanical components and car systems;
