Shipping Manager

Founded in 1993, QA1 is an industry leader in performance shocks, suspension components, composite driveshafts, rod ends, spherical bearings and related accessories for the motorsports and industrial markets. QA1 has more than 100,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space in Lakeville, Minnesota. The state-of-the-art facility includes a complete line of CNC machines, hydraulic presses, filament winding and laser cutting equipment that permit all-inclusive shock absorber, suspension component and composite driveshaft manufacturing and assembly operations. QA1’s quality system is certified to the ISO 9001 standard.

QA1 is looking for a Shipping Manager who will be responsible for managing the efficient operation of the shipping warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures all safety rules and regulations are being followed by all employees
  • Ensures all procedures are being followed by all employees
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining procedures for all processes
  • Responsible for the management of resources (personnel / equipment)
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy
  • Maintains warehouse to include overseeing material handling personnel, completing appropriate paperwork and setting shipping appointments with trucking companies.
  • Determines method of shipping procedures through routes and/or rates and prepares necessary shipping documents.
  • Maintains all files and records related to shipping operations.
  • Ensures proper use of equipment in accordance with safety regulations and provides training as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of shipping and warehouse areas to include storing materials in appropriate locations.
  • Responsible for pulling orders for customer shipments, packaging, and processing shipping paperwork.
  • Responsible for pulling orders for job orders and QC samples
  • Moves new inventory into the warehouse.
  • Labels inventory properly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, inventory software, internet software, and order processing systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the Shipping Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
