Senior Technician - Clean Room

The position:

We are looking to recruit a Senior Technician (Clean Room) to join our team. Working within the Composites Department you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Composite Tooling Module which is tasked with producing high quality tools and components in sufficient time to meet the demands set out by the development and production plans for the Formula One race car as well as external customers.

The role:

This is an exciting role within a busy department. You will oversee process to ensure robust shop floor data collection. Set and ensure enhanced standard operating procedures, manage all material stock and ensure quality products are being produced whilst leading on continuous improvement initiatives. As Composites Supervisor you will manage team leaders across the department, carryout annual appraisals and be responsible for recruitment within the team.

You will also be required:

  • To motivate staff at all times and keeping them focused and supported with information.
  • To support with the flow of QA Documents on class A components and to ensure the electronic copy is kept up to date
  • Support with Fibresim, Laser Projection usage and lay up guides
  • To log and track all consumables and keeping AX up to date with consumption of raw materials.
  • To manage the flow of Work orders through the clean room.
  • To sign off first plies and bagging.
  • To assist and liaise with supervisors/shift leaders to keep the workflow going smoothly
  • Assist with problems and issues in a timely manner and keeping the department agile and raising MPI’s.
  • To maintain and assist with the job cards and ensure they filled out correctly, so all are informed.
  • To help drive down the manufacturing time lines of each component and feedback to production actual times.
  • To ensure all stickers/part numbers are on all laminated parts.
  • Make sure all Grey Boxes are loaded daily with core/moulds and stickers (Part Numbers).
  • Maintain and report on all machinery (Daily check) Etch Plant, Auto Claves, Zund, Aqua Blasters.

Core competencies:

We are looking for someone who has 5+ experience as a supervisor or within a similar role. You will have excellent experience of managing composites quality and on-time delivery. Experience of LEAN manufacturing techniques as well as their application to the composite manufacturing.

Core Skills:

The successful candidate will have the relevant skills and qualifications to support the role of a Composites Supervisor, as well have come from a similar environment.
