Senior Technician - CAM Programming

We have a new vacancy within our team as a Senior Technician (CAM Programming).  This position will be within our Composites team based in Enstone.

 

Senior Technician – The Role

Working as part of the Composite Team within CAM, the post holder will be responsible for producing parts/programs and oversee CAM team members with guidance, standard setting and job allocation. They will work with management and the Engineering Office to provide crucial input on design for manufacturing.

Key objectives include:

• Produce good parts/programs to specification and in accordance with departments standards.

• Check materials are correct, in accordance with route operations and technical specifications.

• Where non-conformance is found ensure it is recorded, clearly communicated concisely as per departments procedures.

• Review technical drawings and estimate time required to manufacture parts, feeding back to Production Control.

• Create training material that supports team development and competency.

• Understudy to the Team Leader as required.

• Resolution of any local queries.

• Solve scheduling and quality problems.

• Manage implementation and development of supporting software and continual development thereof to reduce waste and increase efficiency

 

Senior Technician – The Person

The successful candidate will have:

• Excellent engineering background – able to read and interpret engineering drawings, models, manufacture parts in accordance with equipment available, GD&T and technical specifications that enable appropriate manufacture of parts.

• Proficient use of current department technology.

• PC literate with good working knowledge of the MS office products, particular attention to Microsoft Dynamics 365 and company systems.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience on Hyper mill cam package.

• A good understanding of composite machining essential.

• MSP software knowledge is desirable but not essential
