Job Description 

NASCAR is searching for a talented professional to join our team in the position of Senior Tax Accountant. 

Based in our Daytona Beach office, the Senior Tax Accountant will assist the Director, Tax, in the handling of tax matters including tax return preparation, tax provisions and accounting and tax research. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

Tax Return Preparation 

Calculate, prepare, and coordinate payment of:

  • Federal and state extensions, estimated payments, and tax returns (all entities)
  • Annual County Tangible Personal and Real Property Taxes
  • City Business and Occupational Licenses
  • Gross Receipts Taxes

Tax Calendar 

Assist in maintaining tax calendar to ensure all compliance is timely filed 

Tax Provisions 

Prepare current and deferred tax expense on a quarterly basis 

Prepare forecast updates and return to provision true-up AJEs 

Tax Research 

Conduct ad hoc tax research and projects on various taxes, including income, franchise, property, sales & use, and withholding. 

Fixed Assets 

Review, reconciliation and confirmation of tax, AMT and state fixed asset depreciation records and methodologies, including tie outs to prior year 

Account Reconciliations 

Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations to support internal audit requirements including tie outs to the latest tax payment summary reports 

Document Maintenance and Storage 

Maintain digital storage files of all tax records and correspondence 

This position has no travel requirements. 

Qualifications include the following: 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university plus at least four years' work experience in comparable duties as outlined herein. CPA beneficial but not required. 

Proficient on Company provided hardware and software, and advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and internet-based research of tax regulations. Must be able to create analyses and presentations with limited guidance under strict deadlines as required by business needs.
