Senior Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our expanding Motorsport Engineering team. As part of the GT Motorsport team we want you to provide an invaluable contribution by making that difference: that extra thousandth of second off a lap.

Purpose of the role:

As Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and management of all on board electronic systems across our GT car offering.

You will also be responsible for the preparation and management of detailed reports relating to the electronic systems and work closely with the Chief Engineer and wider motorsport engineering team to continually evolve our race cars with the ultimate goal of championship success for our global customer base.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Preparation and maintenance of all car electronic systems including:
    • Bosch Racecon Engine management / data logger
    • Bosch M5 ABS
    • Bosch DDU
    • Bosch PBX – Power Management
    • Bosch Telemetry
    • BF1 TPMS
    • Megaline E-Shift AGS
    • All on board sensors.
    • On board radio
  • On event and post event preparation and reporting of systems based Key Performance Indicators
  • Checks, maintenance, calibration and stock control of all on board sensors
  • Work closely with Performance and Race Engineers to develop control system package
  • Administer, develop and manage on board system configs for factory and customer cars
  • Assistance in pre-event planning of test content in terms of systems development
  • Responsible for pre-event, on-event and post event reporting of specific criteria

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Mechanical / Automotive / Systems Engineering Degree
  • Experience of Motorsport testing & racing programs
  • Extensive knowledge and usage of motorsport data analysis systems
  • Experience and knowledge of CAN protocols
  • Competent in reading wiring diagrams and schedules
  • Comprehensive understanding of sensor functionality, race car vehicle systems and components is essential
  • Knowledge of radio and telemetry systems
  • Experience in the development of Traction Control and ABS systems advantageous
  • Use of Bosch systems and Engine Management systems advantageous.
  • Experience in use of MATLAB/Simulink
