Senior Power Electronics Engineer

We are expanding our Electric Products Group charged with creating complex electric boosting solutions to meet increasingly stringent automotive regulations while still satisfying customer demands for performance and drivability. We are building a world class group that will design, develop and bring to market state of the art electric machines coupled to our market leading turbocharger technologies. These products will span vehicles from passenger cars to heavy duty commercial vehicles and include conventional and hybrid powertrains as well as fully electric fuel cell vehicles. We leverage our AEROSPACE and MOTORSPORTS technology and heritage to deploy high-power / high-speed electric motor technology to automotive boosting electrification. 

Garrett is leading the world with the first production launch of a high speed electric turbo-compressor that not only includes one of the most power dense motors, it is also the first automotive use of air bearings. The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will claim ownership for end to end power electronic sub-system designs that push the state of the art in efficiency and thermal performance.  Areas of your responsibility will include specifying power topology, design, simulation, supervising layout, testing and validating your product. You will work closely with our Motor Design experts, Controls team, System Architects, and manufacturing partners to drive product improvement from concept design through to launch. 

The successful candidate must be able work efficiently within the development team as well as on independent tasks. Typical days involve collaborating with internal teams that are co-located, as well and internal and external teams that are located globally. You will collaborate with outside vendors and manage priorities to ensure timely test execution.

You must have : 

BS or MS Electrical Engineering

5+ years’ experience in circuit design experience
