Role Overview

Fisker is looking for a Senior Merchandising Buyer to join our team in Manhattan Beach, CA. This position works with executive leadership and our creative team to lead the execution of our merchandising strategy, vendor negotiations and vendor relationships to deliver financial results for assigned merchandise while meeting key sustainability requirements. The Senior Merchandising Buyer will oversee the end-to-end project management of Fisker Merchandise from design to customer fulfillment. 

Responsibilities

  • Owns assigned merchandising categories including partnering in the development of financial plans and making real time adjustments to meet sales, margin %, margin $, and inventory turnover targets.
  • Project manage the fulfillment lifecycle of Fisker Merchandise.
  • Ensures a strong focus on sustainability sourced materials and logistics.
  • Develops and manages assortment and pricing strategy to meet financial targets.
  • Manages vendor relationships for the purpose of improving margin, leading operational process improvements, and financial planning for the various categories and vendors.
  • Leads strategic negotiation events in partnership with the creative teams and Finance.
  • Oversees and executes an experience roadmap for the brand with the appropriate taxonomy.
  • Leverages key partners in Design, Marketing, Purchasing and Finance to execute against these strategies.
  • Actively involved in development of long-term business strategies based on industry trends and competitive analysis.
  • Possesses the ability to think outside of the box and innovate to solve complex problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Merchandising, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience with sustainable sourcing and logistics.
  • 5+ years of merchandising experience. Preferably in the multi-channel or Mass Retail industries.
  • Self-starter with a high level of flexibility and commitment, and a strong drive to win.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), problem-solving skills, and analytical skills.
  • Ability and desire to work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, to resolve implementation issues holistically.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office and common workplace software applications.
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
