Senior Media Manager

We have an exciting opportunity as a Senior Media Manager.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Journalists primary point of contact for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team.

  • Develop and deliver media relations strategy for the team, both with sports media and to grow the team’s reach and influence outside its traditional media base.

  • Manage the production of team editorial content across multiple proprietary and third-party platforms.

  • Manage distribution of content to media in multiple, engaging formats for maximum impact.

  • Creation of strategic briefing and positioning documents for key stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder liaison with parent company, other teams, Formula One and the FIA.

  • Travel to most race events and additional events as required, sometimes replacing Motorsport Communications Director.

  • Line management of team members from across the Communications function.

Candidate Profile:

  • The successful candidate will have a proven competence of working in a senior role in motorsport communications or motorsport media.

  • You can interact credibly with F1 media on the core topic, showing an understanding of the technical and political aspects of the sport.

  • You have first-class organisational and time management skills, and strong attention to detail in all aspects of your work.

  • You have an interest in the media and its development in the modern world and can broaden the team’s appeal beyond traditional media outlets to reach new and under-served audiences.

  • You thrive on working in a fast-paced environment and it would be advantageous if the successful candidate is fluent in another language, preferably German.

  • You enjoy being part of a team and making a difference to our overall performance through your work. You can take it in your stride when working with big characters and prominent personalities and have had experience of people management.

  • You possess excellent communication skills, have high levels of drive and can make calm decisions within a high-pressure environment.

  • Flexibility in hours and approach is required, along with the ability to work under minimum supervision with a proactive attitude.
