Senior Mechanical Engineer

Nitron are a manufacturer of high performance car and motorcycle shock-absorbers based in Eynsham, Oxfordshire. We pride ourselves in being a supplier of extremely high level equipment to motorsport teams and individuals all over the world and we export well over half of our products. We have contracts with vehicle manufacturers and undertake prototype builds for new concept vehicles. We also have a distribution and assembly operation in Japan as well as full repair and modification facilities around the globe.

We currently have a vacant position within our newly refurbished facility for a SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 15 years Mechanical Engineering work experience and will have extensive knowledge of materials and surface finishes, as well as the ability to design complex assemblies and manage projects through initial prototypes to finished production items. Management of a small team will be required, demonstration of team leadership and the ability to own and run a project is essential.

Nitron has continued to grow year after year and this role represents the next step in the development of the Engineering resource at the company. The right candidate will be able to progress through to senior management if they have the drive and skills to do so.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a small Mechanical Design Engineering team
  • Working primarily with SolidWorks but also interfacing with other related programs
  • Leading projects from start to finish
  • Implementing a process of continual improvement in the companies’ Engineering capability

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 15 years relevant working experience in Mechanical Engineering (design)
  • A full understanding of materials, engineering processes and finishes
  • A high level of competence in SolidWorks
  • Extensive experience in running mechanical engineering projects
  • The ability to lead a team of Engineers

In return for the above Nitron are offering an annual salary in excess of £40,000 for this position, depending on ability/experience, for a 40 hour working week, 25 days annual holiday with the opportunity to progress to a top position within the company.
