We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to be part of the Aero R&D Team in the role of Senior Aero R&D Design Engineer

 

Purpose

 

To generate ideas, schemes, designs and developments for the wind tunnel model to improve the performance and efficiency of our wind tunnel test programme.

 

This varied role encompasses mechanical and R&D requirements of the wind tunnel model and full-Size Aero Testing Equipment.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • To provide design schemes from concept stage to component design, assemblies and detail drawings.
  • To mechanically engineer designs and problem solve issues arising from Aero R&D projects.
  • To take ownership for the design and management of Aero R&D projects.
  • To develop project plans, specifications, and schedules to achieve the delivery of Aero R&D Projects.
  • To assist in mentoring of the group’s other engineers.
  • To communicate effectively with other departments.
  • To propose and manage new projects and developments where possible and relevant.
  • To oversee other designers’ schemes from concept through to detail design drawings, tooling and assemblies as required.
  • Define component and assembly test specifications.
  • To provide follow up support on these projects during assembly and testing and development.
  • To provide practical solutions to resolve issues arising from testing and development.
  • To attend and proactively participate in meetings as required.
  • To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally.

Location

The role will be based at the Silverstone Factory.

 

Hours

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm 1 hour for lunch.

Additional hours may be required as work dictates.
