Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Mercedes AMG HPP are seeking two Senior Manufacturing Engineers to join our world championship winning team at Brixworth. The core purpose of your role here will be to drive, lead and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers, own the end to end manufacturing processes and achieve those in World Class timescales.

If you're successful in this role, you'll…

  • Plan, design, tool selection, set up, modify, optimise and monitor a manufacturing process. Work to produce high quality goods efficiently in the most cost effective methods whilst being conscious of the environment and its protection.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing / assembly areas are fully operational on a daily basis and are delivering to the safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics. Design new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones
  • Ensure all products and system requirements are taken into account from the initial product conception to finished result, by working with other teams
  • Balance quality, delivery, cost and speed effectively
  • Examine and tender for new equipment to ensure the highest quality at the best price
  • Lead your team to success, with them showing discretionary effort to deliver the impossible
  • Liaise with the research and development department to ensure the company is at the forefront of ground breaking research.

  • Understanding, interpreting and creating engineering designs
  • Communicating; with lots of different people with different requirements – understanding how to get messages across effectively and in the best way for the person receiving them

Have experience of…

  • CNC machining in a precision engineering environment.
  • R&D activities in a rapid change environment
  • Technical drawing; tolerance and dimensioning.
  • Operating effectively in a similar environment (motorsport, aircraft, engine development programs)
  • Catia V5; modelling and drafting

Demonstrate knowledge of…

  • CNC programming in Fanuc or Heidenhain languages

Hold these qualifications…

  • HNC in mechanical engineering or similar (e.g. Manufacturing or product design)
  • MSc or BSc in mechanical engineering or similar (e.g. Manufacturing or product design – desirable).

  • Credible, with an authoritative approach to engineering and manufacturing feedback
  • A logical thinker able to resolve complex problems and develop new ideas / concepts for ongoing issues
