Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Integral Powertrain has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their team based in Milton Keynes.  You will be working on a full time, permanent basis and be paid a competitive salary.

We work with prestigious manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers, our engineers create innovative, complex powertrain engineering solutions used for a wide range of applications in passenger and off highway vehicles and for premium motorsport.

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of our manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities, process flows and plant layouts for our current and future manufacturing requirements.

Key responsibilities as our Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

You will work in a fast-paced, low to medium volume manufacturing environment. You will identify the end to end manufacturing process of our powertrain products including all the key steps and inspection points.

This key role will also support the crucial make vs buy decision making process, ensuring component suppliers equipment meets our quality, technical and volume requirements.

The Successful candidate will use appropriate tools such as VA/VE or VSM to contribute to the continual improvement of the business’ manufacturing capabilities, efficiencies and capacity.

The Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer will provide manufacturing inputs into commercial quotations and cost development in terms of equipment / investment, cycle times, staffing, process balance, material cash-flow and overheads.

Identifying best-in-class processes for relevant assembly methods and use cost-modelling to find the most appropriate for the business needs is another key requirement.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead the development of a user-friendly manufacturing records system which allows manufacturing and traceability data for built assemblies and sub-assemblies to be easily collated, retrieved and interrogated often tuned to customer needs.

Skills needed to become our Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Ideally degree qualified in an engineering subject
  • Experience of working in a precision Engineering or Manufacturing environment in a similar role
  • Proven track-record in achieving cost effective and capable manufacturing solutions
  • Experience of CAD and Process simulation systems
  • The ability to communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels
