 Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all inbound parts shipping into the vehicle manufacturing facility ensuring on time delivery within budget for all incoming material
  • Train and develop designated Logistics team to have a working knowledge of main operational tasks for their role (i.e. quoting, booking, tracking, and auditing invoices)
  • Drive engagement of Third-Party Logistics partners imbedding a full understanding of their main objectives and the impact of their operational tasks on attainment of business KPIs
  • Promote the importance of teamwork and a positive work environment
  • Pro-actively determine any anticipated shortfall in relation to Customers’ expectations and work with appropriate parties to resolve
  • Drive ongoing communication with Key contacts to build a capable team
  • Manage process failures to ensure that Logistics contacts work with suppliers to implement effective corrective actions
  • Identify and report to management potential customer and/or supplier concerns
  • Manage customs, VAT, duties and international trade compliance to ensure best in class standards
  • Strong focus on sustainability and minimizing environmental impacts

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree required, Masters’ Degree Preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in transportation, logistics management in automotive
  • Prior experience managing Consolidation Center Operations in China preferred
  • Customer-service mindset with an exceptional “can-do” and service-oriented attitude
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail while handling multiple, simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and SAP preferred
  • Strong strategic thinking and honed analytical skills - able to help others make connections and see the big picture
  • Familiar with common international certification related industry standards
  • Must have a balance of both reactive and proactive characteristics
  • Global mindset with experience working in an international/multi-cultural matrix environment
  • Experience leading diverse and remote teams
  • Multi-lingual (English, German, moderate understanding of Mandarin is highly preferable
