Responsibilities
-
Provide support to the Purchasing, and Program Team related to all aspects of purchased parts estimating, material cost budget, raw materials forecast and planning
-
Maintain raw material trend charts and future state forecast for key materials including but not limited to steel, aluminum, nickel, zinc, copper, cobalt, lithium, plastics, lubricants, and other indexed materials

Support material and freight budget development including fuel and energy surcharge outlook
-
Develop and administer a plan for tracking material cost adjustments related to metal market or currency adjustment provisions for purchased materials
-
Prepare and execute strategies for hedging and risk mitigation for potential future price increases
-
Prepare monthly reports and forecasts and track budgets including “budget to actual” variance analysis
-
Develop and monitor ongoing potential risks and opportunities related to material cost
-
Assist buyers and modules leaders in identifying and developing cost savings, avoidance, and mitigation strategies

Track PPV (purchased price variance) and establish effective method for cost change control.
Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
-
Bachelors’ Degree required; Masters’ Degree preferred
-
5+ years’ experience in Purchasing and/or Finance preferably in automotive
-
Customer-service mindset with an exceptional “can-do” and service-oriented attitude
-
Proven organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail while managing multiple, simultaneous projects under deadline pressure

Superior verbal and written communication skills

Proficient working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

Strong strategic thinking and honed analytical skills

Expert in materials cost tracking and related industry standards
