Senior IT Administrator

Senior IT Administrator required immediately.

The role involves:

  • Working with 3rd party support company to manage and support critical servers and systems, including:

 

    • Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
    • Microsoft Exchange 2010
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2014
    • VMWare Virtualisation
    • Veeam Backup Solution
    • Network infrastructure, switches, and cabling.

 

  • Using your technical knowledge and the available resources to accurately diagnose problems across a wide range of operating systems and business applications, resolving Network and Server issues

 

  • Troubleshooting and fixing hardware equipment across a range of PC’s, Laptops, Printers, Multi-Function printers, and other devices

 

  • Resolving IT technical issues for users based at Dovenby and supporting users in the Poland Office.

 

  • Active Directory Management  – Creation and management of AD Group Policies, setting up user accounts, security groups, mailboxes, distribution lists

 

  • General Networking - DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP

 

  • Working with 3rd party support company to develop future IT strategies.

 

  • Continually evaluating new technologies to propose potential new uses for the IT environment.

 

  • Managing 3rd Party Maintenance Agreements.

 

  • Maintaining the IT Software and Hardware Asset Register

 

  • Purchasing all IT resources, including laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, software, software license renewals.
  • Preparing costing and reports for IT infrastructure purchases, both hardware, and software.

 

  • Managing IT infrastructure changes from conception to completion.

 

  • Liaising with 3rd party suppliers and ensuring faults are logged and that SLAs are met
  • Periodically reviewing Security Policies to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements

 

The ideal candidate should:

  • 5 Years minimum IT engineering experience and hardware knowledge working in a business to business environment
  • Must be able to accurately diagnose and repair desktops, laptops, and Servers
  • Experience with VPN and remote work on machines
  • Extensive working knowledge of networks and Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications, in particular, Exchange and SQL.
  • Knowledge of VMWare and Veeam Backup Solution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS
  • Experience with network switches and SonicWall firewalls
  • Experience with network printer installs and configuration
  • Microsoft accreditation desirable
  • Ability to work at a senior engineer level within the team to identify and develop processes

 

The role requires a consistently high level of performance and quality in a highly pressurised and time-sensitive environment. The role would suit a self-motivated team player with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.  Experience of leading a small team would be beneficial although not essential.  A flexible approach to working hours is required.
