Senior Human Resources Manager – Motorsport Games

Motorsport Games, a Motorsport Network company, combines innovative and engaging video games with exciting esports competitions and content for racing fans and gamers around the globe. The Company is the officially licensed video game developer and publisher for iconic motorsport racing series including NASCAR and the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). Motorsport Games is an award-winning esports partner of choice for NASCAR, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Formula E, BTCC and the FIA World Rallycross Championship, among others.

Role Purpose:

To take a senior support role across HR function within Motorsport Games (MSG) in its UK and growing European operations ensuring HR delivery to business requirements. In addition to develop and deliver a plan aligned with MSG HR functional priorities to deliver short and long term people solutions for the business. We will achieve this by building sustainable relationships with our customers and external business partners, deep understanding of the business we support and constructive working relationships across MSG.  A blend of operational and strategic support. Individual Contributor.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • To role model leadership behaviours and management processes in working with their business function(s)
  • Take a wider role in HR representing Partnering on key strategic projects
  • By being part of the MSG leadership team, understanding and input to the business goals and challenges that are faced and identify from this both business and HR opportunities that will support the business goals.  To be a true business partner
  • Support your business area by ensuring all HR deliverables are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of the function and reflect the wider HR Strategy within Motorsport Network Group: a strong Adopt and Adapt approach
  • Drive and contribute to the MSG HR Vision for UK and Europe and share across the MSG population in these areas to drive commitment and influence the agenda
  • Develop and agree a people plan aligned to the business goals.  Ensure that their business teams understand the people implications of their business plan.  Ensure that the plan aligned with HR, business area and company vision and goals
  • To ensure an effective delivery of the people plan which truly embeds the change. 
  • Drive resource planning and talent management processes within the client area to ensure we have clear visibility of our Top Talent, have plans in place to support development and succession that live and breathe
  • Ensure that the business is clear on the people capability required to meet the short and long-term goals of the business – this will include ensuring that the managers use the performance management process in its entirety to deliver this
  • Ensure that the MSG values and behaviours are at the heart of the business area and all that it does
  • Ensure that the business area has leadership and people management at the top of its people agenda.
  • Partner when required on future acquisitions
  • Coach and support the senior leadership team in their leadership capability and delivery to their area, ensuring that feedback becomes a regular occurrence. Get involved in team development at Director and Head Of level as required.
  • Ensure that the business leadership team understand the engagement of their teams and the impact of this on their business delivery.  Help them to understand the levers they have available to improve engagement in their areas.    
  • Act as primary point of contact and provide leadership ER cases
  • Drive and facilitate the delivery of cyclical activities. Eg. Engagement, annual salary/development mapping review
  • Actively provide input to the review and development of people policies, frameworks and processes at MSN Group HR Level
  • Take responsibility for personal development required to successfully further develop own capability, skill and knowledge in order to enhance own performance
  • HR triage (virtual and/or face to face) when required

Key Challenges

  • Embedding an HR culture within MSG – taking it from back office tactical to Strategic Business Partnering
  • Driving the functional requirements across HR identifying opportunities with other areas
  • Represent complexities of UK/Other Territories when dealing with company-wide MSG initiatives
  • Supporting leadership teams develop effective ways of working and level of challenge
  • Building a people plan that is fit for purpose and meets the requirements of the business
  • Stand-Alone role with limited technology tools initially – currently implementing Bamboo HRIS
  • High level of ambiguity across the business
  • Through relationships and influence across HR, drive an increased customer centric approach
  • Multi-Cultural/Multi-Time Zone Client teams in UK/Russia/Europe

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in HR Management in high growth environment
  • Accustomed to working on own – self-starter
  • Combination of experience smaller organisations with evidence of implementing leading edge solutions
  • Strong academics, and numerate
  • Strong track record of delivery organization/functional change initiatives, including restructuring
  • Broad based HR experience encompassing ER, Resourcing, Change Management, L&D and Reward
  • Ideally experience in working within an International HR Environment, with Client teams based beyond the UK
  • Evidence of sound judgement brought to bear in complex situations
  • Commercially astute and able to explain the strategy and financials of the organisations worked for
  • Proven capability of delivering in high-performance cultures, using employee survey, appraisal cycle, etc, to develop
  • Strong Driver of HR Best Practice whilst demonstrating commercial benefits
  • Strong experience in working with HRIS – particularly Bamboo (newly implemented across Motorsport Network)
  • High integrity, committed to ethical practice, equity and diversity

  • Emotionally resilient and stable under pressure
  • Prepared to go from Strategic to Tactical Triage as required – will willingly roll up the sleeves and get stuff done

 

Based: Home/Silverstone (Northants) – with limited overseas travel

Reports to: HR Director, Motorsport Games (based in Florida)
