Renault Sport Racing have an excellent opportunity to join our team at a tremendously exciting time in our history within Formula 1.   As we continue to grow as a team, we are looking for a highly talented individual to join the Stress Analysis Section of our Design Office at Enstone reporting to the Head of Stress.  

Senior FEA Composites Stress Engineer – The Role

The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to undertake the structural analysis of composite components and assemblies using the latest Finite Element techniques.  As a Senior, there may be a level of management of a team of Stress Engineers.  Your duties will include the definition of the relevant test procedures in close liaison with the designer and the R&D department to achieve successful structural sign off and to assist with problem solving for those parts.

Senior FEA Composites Stress Engineer– The Person

We are looking for an individual who has extensive experience of working in a structural analysis role in motorsport, preferably in an F1 team.  Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail are a must, alongside the ability to work under pressure.

As part of our Design team we have high expectations of a candidate’s engineering abilities. In particular candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• An understanding of implications on overall car performance when balancing design criteria
• Experience of being a senior specialist/technical expert for a defined part of the car
• A track record of high standards/ownership for all aspects of work delivered

Candidates should have experience in the usage of some of the following:

• Abaqus & Hyperworks
• Optistruct optimisation techniques or Genesis
• Laminate Tools
