Role Overview

At the heart of Fisker’s visionary product lies a state of the art powertrain and you can play a central role in its delivery. We are looking for an experienced EV Systems Functional Safety Engineer to ensure that our powertrain complies with the latest ISO 26262 functional safety standard. You will develop functional safety work products and manage suppliers to meet FSRs and safety goals across the powertrain system while working with vehicle level safety engineers to deliver the complete powertrain system safety architecture and analysis. Fisker is a fast-moving technologically-focused startup, and in this context you will need considerable flexibility and adaptability to deal with the rapidly-developing requirements at the leading edge of EV powertrain implementation.

Skills and Experience

  • Detailed knowledge of the functional safety development process and work products according to ISO 26262 standard
  • Experience creating HARA, FSC, FSRs and FTA and decomposition of safety goals across ECUs
  • Understanding of HW and SW safety requirements and implementation including FMEDA and SW safety algorithms
  • Familiarity with safety testing including HW & SW unit verification, system testing and safety validation
  • Experience with requirements management tracking and ALM tools (for example using DOORS, Polarion or JAMA)
  • Experience developing functional safety work products with OEM on production intent program
  • Knowledge of software structure and development from requirements derivation to software validation
  • Familiarity with powertrain diagnostics implementation
  • Experience of effective supplier interaction
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills

Qualifications

  • 5+ years relevant professional experience
  • BS or MS in electrical, mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline
