Director, Business Development

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join us in the role of Director, Business Development.  The Director, Business Development is responsible for all aspects of sponsorship sales, including identifying appropriate categories, specific companies and decision makers; updating sales materials and sales databases; preparing presentations and specifically leading the sales efforts around new business opportunities.  The Director will also work closely with all internal departments to develop sponsorship opportunities.

Position is currently based in our Charlotte, NC office.  Candidates located in other markets will be considered.

Travel: 50%, including weekends

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Identify and develop new sales leads and actively prospect daily 
  • Create additional revenue strategies and opportunities in collaboration with internal departments 
  • Work closely with industry stakeholders to nurture and develop multi-platform programs 
  • Provide in-depth research of potential official partners 
  • Develop sales proposals & collateral for potential sponsors 
  • Identify and work to solidify potential sponsors and business opportunities 
  • Work on internal sports industry databases to track sponsors in competitor leagues 
  • Provide targeted sales lead sheets with key contacts & company information 
  • Participate in new business meetings to learn how to position the company to potential prospects 
  • Work with Analytics and Insights team to develop custom research for prospects
