Senior Design Engineer

DESCRIPTION

Scuderia Toro Rosso is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Design Engineer to join our F1 team in Faenza.

 The Role:

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will have to design with high attentiveness to details the structural mechanical and composite components, meeting packaging and specification constraints. In your role you will have to communicate regarding function of suspension and driver control systems.

What you will do:

  • Work with concept, vehicle performance and aerodynamic groups to maximise suspension and driver controls impact on overall car performance
  • Maintain and develop good relationships with other departments
  • Complete detailed design work, including hand calculations and detail drawings, to a high standard
  • Issue documentation for component testing and trackside operations
  • Management of actions to deal with quality issues during production
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers and technical partners
  • Keep up-to-date with all latest technical developments which can be applied
  • Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects.
  • Work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department / team/ sponsors.

What you need:

  • Degree level in Mechanical Design Engineering or similar
  • Extensive Automotive design experience at a senior level, ideally in F1
  • Excellent English language written and spoken, knowledge of Italian would be beneficial
  • Proven experience on Siemens NX CAD software, equivalent knowledge of other applications are acceptable
  • Knowledge of metallic material uses and treatments
  • Good understanding of composite materials and their production
  • Able to effectively manage tasks under high pressure working conditions
  • Ability to scope new tasks thoroughly
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely
