Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
Lotus has a history of revolutionary products demonstrating the core attributes of lightweight and accessible dynamic performance – for the drivers. This is achieved by efficient design throughout the vehicle, with the appropriate balance of technology. Correct conceptual design practice embraces and refines the critical attributes ensuring protection of the Lotus DNA.
As Senior Concept Design Engineer, you will support the development of Future Lotus products in;
- Conceptual design proposals
- Packaging proposals
- Design critique
- Design optimisation
- Vehicle Integration
- Preparing reporting documentation
Working as part of a wider Concepts team, you will work cross-functionally with the Studio Design, Components, Materials, Vehicle Development and Product Planning teams.
You'll be working on whole vehicle layout, bringing with you a critical awareness of good design whilst keeping key Lotus thinking in mind.
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
- Full vehicle Concept experience
- Niche Vehicle Design
- Experience with battery electric vehicles
- Knowledge of joining technologies and metallic/ composite materials and processes
- Excellent knowledge of CATIA v5 and above
- Teamcentre experience desirable
