Senior Calibration Engineer

As we begin this exciting journey we are looking for a Senior Calibration Engineer to join our Motorsport Engineering function and help deliver our future championship winning GT cars.

Purpose of the role:
To perform the calibration of the engine including charge/torque model calibration with performance development. Support in DOE and other ECU control related activities including loom and telemetry development.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Technical Requirements collection from stakeholders and interacting with the project/certification engineers for the requirements understanding
  • Development of the control models in Simulink/Matlab to support the calibration activities.
  • Ability to analyse the engine performance/measurements and set up specific tests according to the results
  • Data analysis and production of formal test reports
  • System ownership for calibration, software structure, and application into the vehicle

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Extensive experience in automotive or motorsport test cells with Bosch Motronic or Motorsport applications (MEDC17 or MS 6.2)
  • Experience with ETAS INCA, AVL CONCERTO, Indicom, Cameo, CRETA, WinDarab V7.
  • Knowledge of motorsport applications and telemetry systems
  • Knowledge of the combustion analysis
  • Good knowledge of internal combustion engine concepts
  • Base knowledge of all the actuators (cam phasers, turbo, spark advance, throttle, fuel) and their impacts on the performance/ efficiency
  • Able to develop tools in Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience in fuel consumption optimization (DOE activities)
  • Experience in loom development and
  • Good debugging/troubleshooting skills
