The accountant’s key role is to ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements
- Assist with annual external audit; assist and completes in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim audit.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups
- Actively supports SEC reporting. Assist with completion of the quarterly and annual regulatory filings; preparation of assigned Quarterly and Annual Statutory Statement pages/schedules.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university
- CPA is preferred
- 5 plus years of experience in accounting / domestic and international
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles / US GAAP
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- SEC reporting experience
- Knowledge of financial analysis; ability to prepare clear and accurate financial reports
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and Quick-books
- Knowledge in NetSuite preferred
- Detail oriented with an ability to work independently and within reporting deadlines
