Security Patrol Officer (Event Staff)

Located within five hours (300 miles) of 25 percent of the U.S. population, Watkins Glen International is the premier road racing facility in North America, three-times voted “Best NASCAR Track” by readers of USA Today. The Glen hosts a diverse portfolio of premier sports car, open wheel and stock car races throughout the year.

This is an event staff part-time position (8-40 hours per week); General hours: 6:00am-2:00pm, 2:00pm-10:00pm, 10:00pm-6:00am (hours may change during events)

Duration of Position: April – November       

Qualifications:

  • Common sense, good judgment and the ability to think logically;
  • Reliability and punctuality.  If you commit to a date, be there and on time;
  • Knowledge of the Gate 2 Security and Security Patrol Handbooks;
  • Ability to work as a team member.

Responsibilities:

  • Opening and closing of WGI;
  • Open and close gates as needed;
  • Assist Track Rental Customers as needed;
  • Respond to any incidents and document as needed;
  • Stay attentive and report any suspicious activity when observed;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirement:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Security Guard license preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
