Sales Manager, Industrial & OEM Business

Summary: 

The Sales Manager will be responsible for direct sales of standard and custom products to OEM customers and industrial accounts. You will take on existing accounts and develop sales with the addition of new customers. You will work with the engineering team as needed to develop custom products for specific customer requirements. Responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating sales activities to maximize sales and profits as outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Develop and maintain sales pipeline of opportunities from raw leads to closed sales utilizing company CRM system.
  • Research and prospect new business opportunities aligned with company goals. Generate your own leads.
  • Work with Director of Engineering and Director of Business Development to qualify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Provide overall project management on development projects for specific customers to ensure timelines are met and goals are understood.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with industrial distributors and OEM customers.
  • Develop proposals and quotes for new opportunities. Present these proposals in compelling ways to close business.
  • Develop annual sales forecast and business plan including sales by customer and gross margins. Provide monthly status on progress.
  • Work with product managers to maintain and update pricing on standard products.
  • Work with marketing team to develop and execute lead generation activities including tradeshows, website development, advertising, catalogs and other promotional activities.
  • Travel as needed to meet with customers and participate in tradeshows and events. Estimate 25% travel.
  • Remain current on market conditions regarding products, competitors, and new technologies and market trends.
  • Review and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner, as required to meet or exceed company goals on customer service.
  • Establish, develop, and monitor outside sales representative organizations for industrial products.
  • Monitor and evaluate customer and product line sales trends. Review product pricing, forecasting and safety stock levels with product managers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position may supervise employees in the Sales Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university and minimum of five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
