Job Description

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join our team in the position Revenue Accountant based in our Daytona, FL office. 

The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of licensing revenue for NASCAR and NASCAR Team Properties (NTP) and competition related revenue for NASCAR and its subsidiaries. Responsibilities include review of contracts, processing payments and monitoring financial obligations, tracking royalty reports and quarterly distributions for licensing, preparing revenue forecasts for licensing, and performing month-end close duties related to the assigned revenue streams. 

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

Reviews all assigned contracts and determines financial obligations. Creates invoice requests for those contracts, as necessary, and ensures appropriate review by supervisors. 

Responsible for maintaining licensing revenue information including payments received, royalties reported, and contractual requirements. Monitors the status of payments and required licensing reporting. Prepares comparison of royalties reported against payments received and minimum guarantees included in the contracts. Provides reporting on this information to the Licensing and Consumer Products department. Prepares year-end accrual for royalties earned, but not yet received. 

Quarterly, prepares the calculation of NTP's royalty distributions. Coordinates review by Licensing and Consumer Products department. Reconciles revenue and balance sheet accounts for NTP to ensure all amounts are properly recorded. Responsible for the dissemination of data to the beneficiaries. 

Prepares semi-annual royalty reporting for NASCAR Hall of Fame and processes the related payments. 

Manages the Licensing forecast process and works with the FP&A group to meet their reporting requirements and timelines. 

Prepare, distribute, and monitor payment status of sanction fee invoice requests for the NASCAR and IMSA events. Perform thorough review of Entry Blanks for the company's events. 

Determines the appropriate general ledger coding for payments received for assigned revenue streams. 

Prepare assigned journal entries and reconciliations for licensing and competition related revenue. 

Prepares quarterly invoice requests including the accumulation of supporting documentation 

Assist with other departmental projects 

Travel may be required on occasion for this role. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent from two (2) year college and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

In addition to the above, must have strong analytical skills, able to multi-task in a fast pace environment. Strong organizational and time management skills required. Must maintain a positive attitude and work ethic. May occasionally have to work overtime as needed, to meet the objectives of the position and department. 

Strong knowledge of Microsoft office products with advanced knowledge of excel is required.
