To ensure McLaren Automotive continues its desire to be “the sportscar company”, we are looking for a Recruitment Advisor to join our team.

Purpose of the role:

As a Recruitment Advisor you will be working  in the internal recruitment team as part of the wider HR function within McLaren Automotive. You will act as the main point of contact for both hiring managers and candidates in the recruitment process from candidate attraction to hiring, ensuring that all vacancies are filled with the right person at the right time, in a cost-effective manner. 

Principal accountabilities:

  • To manage the recruitment of people with the appropriate skills and expertise for newly created and replacement roles related to a specific functional area[s] ensuring that a flawless end to end recruitment service is delivered.
  • To work together with the HR Business Partners to provide a proactive recruitment service that ensures candidates are sourced in accordance with the needs of the business plan.
  • Educate and guide hiring managers through the recruitment process, including support with interviews, interview guidance and provision of recruitment training as needed.
  • Recommend and utilise appropriate software and tools to support the efficiency of candidate sourcing, pooling, attraction and management throughout the recruitment process.
  • To assist hiring managers in creating accurate and interesting job and person specifications from the Job Descriptions.
  • To keep up to date with current recruitment trends to advise hiring managers on best practice recruitment approaches, developing and creating processes in conjunction with the rest of the team.
  • To advise hiring managers on recruitment market conditions for specific functional area and advise on the most appropriate hiring channels.
  • To conduct pre-screening activities and conversations to improve the quality of CVs/candidates presented to hiring managers and to complete the first ‘sift’.
  • To ensure all recruitment systems and tracking activities are up to date and maintained accurately.
  • To contribute and lead other related resourcing activity such as talent management and succession planning.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions for international global recruitment, primarily inbound but also outbound from time to time.
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with HR business partners and assistants, managers, agencies and networking contacts to support the business needs.
  • Maintain a PSL in conjunction with Purchasing ensuring that McLaren Automotive receives the best value.
  • To constantly look for ways to improve the candidate experience and the recruitment process.
  • Champion our business to become an ‘employer of choice’.
  • To participate fully and constructively as a member of the HR team contributing to discussions and activities beyond the Recruitment remit that might include Reward Strategy, Organisational Development, Leaning and Development, for example.
  • To promote and live the “McLaren Values” acting as an HR ambassador within the business.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Proven success in fast moving high volume recruitment environment.
  • Experience of hiring for all levels in an organisation including liaising with agencies and head-hunters.
  • Experience of recruiting end to end in a multi-disciplined environment, including sourcing for complex and hard to find skill sets.
  • Proven ability to influence others through excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A knowledgeable and credible recruiter with a strong track record of success.
  • Knowledge of the recruitment market both in the UK and internationally including scarce in demand skills, market rates etc.
  • A good understanding of the different facets of the business and the knowledge and skills required in those roles.
  • Can demonstrate a track record through data, metrics and impact on the business.
  • Experience of working within an automotive or engineering environment would be an advantage.
  • Experience working with ATS systems would be an advantage (our current system is SucessFactors)
