Race Team Bodyshell Fabricator/Welder

We are a busy Historic Race car preparation team specialising in BMWs from the 1960s and 70s, looking to hire an experienced bodyshell fabricator/welder to work on various projects for the race shop.

Main Responsibilities

  • Installing of roll cages and bodyshell modifications and re-fabrication of body panels no longer available.
  • MIG and TIG welding of thin gauge steel/aluminium to high structural and aesthetic standards
  • Light structural restoration and panel repair fabrication

Skills Required

  • Strong Motorsport restoration experience or race car preparation
  • Able to competently jig shells and weld roll cages
  • Candidates must also be skilled in car restoration and metal fabrication
  • Be fully competent in the use of MIG and TIG 
  • Be able to communicate effectively and resolve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Willing to join the Team on race weekends across UK and Europe
  • Some mechanical knowledge would be an advantage

Experience Required

  • Past experience in working within an automotive bodyshop is essential.
  • Excellent salary potential based upon experience.
