Quality Technician

About The Opportunity

 

To be a champion for inspection and testings activites that support all departments at GKN Drivline. Inculding repair and calibriation of measuring and test equipment.

 

To be the first line of support for plantwide quality issues and work individually or in conjuction with other GKN Driveline team members for issue reporting and resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand personal impact and supporting role for all management systems
  • Support quality team metrics and TPAP activities
  • Support internal auditing processes, as required.
  • Interface with production employees and leadership to understand / resolve quality issues
  • Operate / maintain CMM (run programs) [~50% duties]
  • Measure parts from machining stations and quality gates to determine conformity level
  • Ensure plant wide gauging system is compliant (gage operation, troubleshooting, repair, and overall maintenance
  • Perform gage calibrations and maintain in GageTrak software
  • Ensure proper suspect and non-conforming material identification, segregation, and containment.
  • Train shop floor resources surrounding inspection, testing, measuring and metrology.
  • Input data and maintain spreadsheets and other documents and software per internal and TS / ISO requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability to perform duties with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to learn and grow as a team member and individual
  • Basic knowledge of SPC techniques
  • Basic problem solving techniques
  • Additional ability to work with calipers, micrometers, and scales with effective email, communication and computer skills required.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 Basic understanding of blue prints and GD&T principles.
