JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Engineer plans and performs quality requirement tasks for part development. They will also drive corrective, preventative, and closure actions for component issues related to quality, along with ensuring that quality reporting is maintained and documented.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Align easily with customer quality requirements by using effective communication skills.
  • Develop structured documentation (prepared reports) that clearly communicates quality requirements by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and making recommendations.
  • Develop the use of key process indicators to determine process effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, discover best practices, and drive continuous quality improvement.
  • Work closely with production line and ensure all necessary controls are enforced for compliance with ISO requirements.
  • Perform analysis on production data to identify trends and recommend related updates.
  • Facilitate closure of corrective action and root cause analysis activities.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Blueprint reading and GD&T understanding
  • Work and collaborate with outside vendors and customers
  • Computer skills, strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • Identify, analyze and implement solutions to production issues
  • Practical and logical approach to problem-solving, contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline and 2 years minimum experience in a technical or manufacturing environment
  • OR Associate’s of Science in a technical discipline and 5 years minimum experience in a technical or manufacturing environment or equivalent.
  • Experience driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • ERP experience (Visual) preferred
  • Project management skills from concept to production preferred
  • Working experience within ISO certified companies preferred
  • Minitab working knowledge preferred
