Your responsibilities
This professional is responsible for all testing, prototyping and maintaining Test Lab/Prototype Shop procedures, practices and standards. This position collaborates with Project Teams to generate Design Verification Plans (DVP) and define quality standards per customer and internal specifications. Managing the complete Prototype Shop to ensure best utilization, maintenance and return over investment of all those assets ensuring highest standards of Safety, Quality and Cleanliness/Organization. Your tasks: • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same. • Comply with the Export Controls / ITAR regulations. • Establishes work procedures and standards for Test Lab and Prototype Shop to improve internal and external customer support and overall efficiency of Test Lab. • Ensures Test Lab standards are aligned with global organization standards. • Coordinates product testing activities and oversees daily Test Lab operations. • Reviews and approves requests for product testing. • Provides technical expertise to Engineering teams on performance testing activities. • Develops quotations for product test costs for new projects • Provides leadership and direction to Test Lab team. • Maintains investment and resource planning for future Test Lab needs. • Establishes guidelines for new product-specific testing procedures. • Assists Product Engineers in development of Design Verification Plans (DVP) for new product programs. • Analyzes DVPs to determine feasibility of design and application. • Technical support interface with customer for related topics. • Build (weld, machine) initial prototypes and concepts. • Schedule / coordinate prototype builds. • Perform and maintain Failure analysis support (DFMEA/PFMEA) • Machining / 3D printing internal consultant to ensure knowledge sharing and independency • Order proper supplies • Maintain close contact with Germany, Hamilton T&I and Poway for development/test of dampers and systems. • Applies metrics to monitor performance of the team and pushes for demonstrable continuous improvement. • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
