The Position
The Prototype Engineering and Fabrication team is looking for a Vehicle Technician to support our engineering teams with development of current and future prototype vehicles.
This is a highly technical position that requires in depth knowledge of various complex electrical and mechanical subsystems that are combined to create cutting edge vehicles. Strong problem solving abilities are needed to work alongside with our Engineers to identify and resolve challenging issues. This role will be based in Sunnyvale, CA.
Role
- Retrofit/modify prototype vehicles to accept new hardware designs.
- Diagnose and repair failures found with prototypes.
- Provide failure analysis and design concerns back to Engineering.
- Electrical and Mechanical fabrication as designed and specified by Engineering.
- General fleet maintenance and repair.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience working in an automotive dealership.
- Technical certification from accredited automotive training institution.
- Equipped with own tools.
- Ability to operate and maintain various hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate and maintain shop tools and equipment.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to travel
- Work independently and/or collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Show attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities/schedules.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
