We are currently looking for a Proprietary and Technical Co-Ordinator to fill a new and exciting position within our Production Department.

 

Purpose

  • Purchasing and co-ordination of metallic components.
  • Purchasing of proprietary and consumable parts
  • Technical procurement of Metallic manufactured components
  • Component co-ordination where required
  • Purchasing of raw materials

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Purchasing of proprietary and consumable parts for the team's Car Build Production department
  • Purchasing of proprietary and consumable parts for the team's Wind Tunnel site
  • Technical procurement of metallic manufactured components both externally and internally for designated projects both on and off car
  • Pro-active communication with internal stakeholders to achieve the most informed plan for effective procurement
  • Reporting of any delivery exceptions to relevant persons or department in a timely manner to manage expectations
  • Key supplier liaison with focus on reducing lead-times, increasing agility and delivery performance
  • Ensure suppliers selected are capable of meeting all specifications and quality standards of purchased proprietary components.
  • Professional and dynamic representation of the company when dealing with current and any future suppliers
  • Development of new vendor accounts when required
  • To chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings when required.
  • To work proactively, responsibly and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company's reporting structure

 

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of purchasing both general and engineering proprietary parts, fasteners, bearings, electronic items and consumables, etc. in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Possess an understanding of engineering drawings
  • Have a good understanding of the metallic suppliers in the Fl industry.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail ensure high quality components are delivered within the timescales required
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or similar
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
  • To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales
  • To communicate effectively, positively and respectfully with all colleagues and suppliers
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills
  • Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
