Job Description

The Plant Service team is looking for a positive professional that can work well in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting. The Millwright position will be key member of the Plant Service Projects Team. The individual will assist with assembly line & equipment moves, hoist installation & repairs, preventative maintenance (PM’s) & safety related projects. The individual will perform basic mechanical and plumbing functions, develop relationships with strategic vendors and partner with 3rd party technicians when required. The individual requires a strong mechanical aptitude, must be able to fabricate and weld as needed to support guarding, safety, equipment repairs and manufacturing related projects. The individual will report to the Facility Manager within Plant Services.

Essential Functions:

  • Independent and organized work style: effectively manage time and prioritize workload, adapt to change and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Plans, coordinates, and assists with hoist installation & repair, installation & move of assembly lines, installation of fume extraction units, minor plumbing repairs and installation of equipment air and gas lines
  • Conduct mechanical repairs and functions as a general mechanic.
  • Must have a working knowledge of general mechanic logic and be capable of applying this knowledge in troubleshooting of the production equipment.
  • Possess ability to fabricate, weld and operate machining & milling equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment & facility related systems.
  • Ability to read schematics for pneumatics, hydraulics and floor plans.
  • Know how to use hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Understand applicable safety standards and codes.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; recommend tools, supplies, and equipment for purchase

Qualifications

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • An associate degree pertaining to manufacturing or a Millwright credential preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to enroll in and complete the State of Wisconsin Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship Program.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving capability.
  • Construction knowledge & strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Have a strong Mathematic aptitude as it relates to fractions and angles for installing equipment and installing airlines/gas lines.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to successfully complete and maintain Orange Cart, Scissors Lift, Forklift, Lockout Tagout, and Arc Flash training is required.
  • Physically able to kneel, climb ladders, work from elevated platforms and lift 50 lbs.
  • Working overtime as required to meet project deadlines.
