Project & Supplier Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Project / Supplier Quality Engineer to develop quality requirements throughout the supply chain enabling high quality, on-time development builds and production launches. The Project / Supplier Quality Engineer will also support the business’ road-map for achieving accreditations such as TS-16949 and ISO14001 and any additional customer specific qualifications.

2018 was an exceptional year at Integral Powertrain, two of our high-power density Integral e-Drive motors powered the record-breaking run at Pikes Peak in the Rocky Mountains where the times for electric vehicles and the overall speed record were smashed.

Our Project & Supplier Quality Engineer will:

  • Guide project managers, engineers and supply chain management in completing required documentation such as; APQP, SPAP / PPAP, PSW and Control Plans
  • Support Quality System Activities including Internal Audits
  • Support the supplier selection process by vetting suggested suppliers and conducting component quality process reviews for key items
  • Identify and release Project & Supplier Quality Requirements, including internal project quality documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans/ CQP, Process Maps, 8D Reports) and supplier quality documentation (PPAP including PFMEA, Process Maps, Control Plans, ISIRs, MSA, PSW)
  • Support strategic suppliers in the development of their understanding and delivery of Integral Powertrain’s requirements, carrying out regular supplier visits to monitor progress
  • Develop, implement and monitor tailored, measurable and timed supplier improvement plans. Manage supplier deviations including Concession and SCAR and deal with any major customer or supplier issues
  • Manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant work instructions to ensure they are up to date and compliant with ISO9001-2015, customer quality system requirements, and standards which the company is working towards achieving including TS-16949 and ISO14001

About You

  • Hold a relevant qualification, ideally a Degree in an engineering related subject
  • Strong experience in a quality engineering environment (ideally within the automotive sector), preferably with significant experience in supplier or project quality and able to contribute to supplier development
  • Excellent knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, ideally holding relevant qualifications and training. It would be beneficial to have good knowledge of IATF 16949
  • Proven understanding and experience in defining, implementing and applying APQP and PPAP requirements, Supplier Scorecards and KPIs
  • Adept in carrying out supplier assessments, Non-Conformance / Permanent Corrective Action Measures
  • The role will require regular travel, largely within the UK.
