Project Manager

Project Manager

Innovation is at the core of Mishimoto.  We listen to our enthusiasts, develop what they need, improve their car’s performance, and deliver it.  Behind every successful Mishimoto product is an organized Project Manager dedicated to excellence.  They are the proud guardian of a newborn Mishimoto invention – they manage the full-cycle product development from R&D to market release.

We are growing and need more Project Managers on Team Mishi to bring even more awesome products to market:

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed roadmap to ensure on-time delivery of your product within budget.  On-time, on-budget, great.  Early, and under-budget, boss!
  • Orchestrate the entire product life-cycle team (R&D, Testing, Marketing, Production, Sourcing & Logistics) to get your product to market.
  • Coordinate with affiliates and domestics and international suppliers to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.
  • The files are in the computer. Maintain and update all databases, accounting records, and on-line tools related to make sure our rads are in a row.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Product Team on your product status.  Are you on-track or off-track (and how will you get back in gear?).
  • Use stellar networking skills to find the perfect test vehicle available during the production schedule. Sometimes you have to pound the pavement and expertly schmooze to convince the vehicle owner to part with their baby.
  • Regularly report to management on project status. No surprises with xxx projects.

Your Creds:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering is preferred
  • 2-years’ experience in a related field, such as Project Management is preferred
  • 1-2 years prior experience in an engineering-related environment, such as manufacturing, automotive or industrial

You Are Good At:

  • Collaborating, communicating, negotiating, and teaming with people.  It’s not only about product management, but people management too.  It takes a team to get the product right and ready on time.
  • Manufacturing; You have a basic understanding of common manufacturing processes for automotive parts. When and where to use casting instead of CNC machining.
  • Amortization, break even analysis and conditional formatting are not foreign to you. Applying these, and other, financial tools to help evaluate options are important for bringing the product to market.
  • Listening to all stakeholders and accepting constructive feedback to make the best product possible.
  • Impeccable organization and schedule management, juggling multiple projects simultaneously.  You’re our project manager.
  • Problem solving. Sometimes your donor vehicle crashes at the track the weekend before shop time.  The show must go on.
  • Fine-tuning small details without loosing site of the big picture.  One missed key punch in a SKU could delay your project.  One missed component could throw a wrench in quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Your professional skills are critical for keeping projects rolling.

Extra Awesome:

  • Reading Engineering Drawings
  • International Project Experience

Some Necessities:

  • Incumbent will work in both a normal office environment and garage environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Travel is less than 10%.
