Project Engineer

You will be responsible for liaising with all key stakeholders in the business, including supply chain, production and quality, to ensure that these products are manufactured and delivered to the customer’s requirements, often in challenging timeframes.

You should be a highly capable individual with good attention to detail, methodical approach, a good Engineering background with a sound understanding of fundamental Engineering principles, and a desire to deliver the best possible solution at all times.

The ability to demonstrate excellent CAD skills with surface modelling experience in SolidWorks and/or Catia V5/Siemens NX is essential. FEA skills would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing new designs and realising customer’s requirements, working closely with the Engineering, Quality and Production teams.
  • Develop manufacture tooling designs, technical drawings and process instructions for manufacturing and inspection.
  • Ensuring the smooth introduction of new designs into production with the Production Engineers and Managers.
  • Customer and supplier liaison.
  • Supporting with customer RFQ and technical queries.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the production team, and implement robust solutions to address.
  • Support the implementation of process instructions and quality alerts where appropriate.
  • Ensure existing products are managed, issues identified, promptly addressed and continuously improved.
  • Implement ad-hoc engineering requests of production in a controlled and traceable manner.
  • Assisting with the ongoing technical development of new technology, material development and manufacturing processes within the company.

Personal Specification

  • A degree or previous established experience is essential for this role with previous work in motorsport or automotive desirable.
  • PC Literate and able to use or quickly learn SolidWorks, Catia V5, Siemens NX and SAP Business One.
  • Technical, hands-on approach with a good understanding of the commercial implications and the flexible and time sensitive nature of a motorsport orientated working environment.
  • Clear open two-way communication skills, with an approachable, positive and pro-active attitude.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with the confidence to assert themselves where appropriate.
  • Flexibility and willing to learn new skills.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible in performing a wide range of tasks within and sometimes outside of their standard job description.
