Project Co-ordinator / Graduate Project Engineer

KW Special Projects Ltd requires a Project Co-ordinator/ Graduate Project Engineer to join the team in this ambitious and growing high performance engineering business. We are looking for someone with a “can do” attitude and strong lateral thinking skills, who is excited by the engineering process and can apply their skills to a variety of diverse projects using their initiative and knowledge.

Person Specification: Core competencies and experience.

This is a varied role of a junior position, please see above for an experienced project engineers’ requirements of which we would expect them to be confident in fulfilling following several years’ service.

 

Applicants will ideally have a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of a 2:1 result or equivalent.

Automotive/motorsport experience preferred but not essential.

Applicants will preferably have a

  • Motorsport, automotive, low volume production experience in a similar industry
  • Proven and skilled use of software, CATIA V5 and solidworkds as appropriate
  • Evidence of client-facing experience
  • Experience with supplier negotiation
  • Create and manage project plans
  • Ability to prepare specifications and deliver these within budget and on time
  • Experience in drawing office procedures and ability to implement as business and project requirement develops
  • Scheme and release components using - Carbon composite, metallic machining, fabrication, and additive manufacturing DFM
  • Creation of engineering documentation including GDT
  • Create and control engineering BOM
  • Adhere to Engineering change process control
  • Manage technical risks
  • Express a commitment to quality and meeting customer requirements
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Confident use of MS-Office applications
    • Proven skills in detailed analysis and problem solving from first principles
    • Follow, create, and disseminate good working practises and processes
    • Thrive operating in small team environments
    • Able to positively contribute to developing processes based on changing project requirements
