Program Manager - Electric Boosting

Honeywell Transportation Systems is expanding our Electric Boosting Group charged with creating electric boosting solutions to meet increasingly stringent automotive regulations while still satisfying customer demands for performance and drivability.  We are developing and bringing to market state of the art electric machines coupled to our market leading turbocharger technologies. These products will span vehicles from passenger cars to heavy duty commercial vehicles and include conventional and
hybrid powertrains as well as fully electric fuel cell vehicles. We leverage our Aerospace and Motorsports technology and heritage to deploy high-power / high-speed electric motor technology to automotive boosting electrification.  Honeywell is leading the world with the first production launch of a high speed
electric turbo-compressor that not only includes one of the most power dense motors, it is also the first automotive use of air bearings.  To continue this momentum, we are growing our agile team of global experts to lead new technology development.

As Program Manager you will be responsible to lead multiple projects, ranging from new technology development to production launch. This includes project initiation and scope definition partnering with
business leadership team, management of program development, coordination of product design, validation, launch and post implementation support. The Program Manager will be instrumental in managing the Engineering budget, from annual forecasts to expenses control. 

Primary responsibilities include:

- Assessment of new product opportunities in alignment to business strategy led tasks including financial, technical feasibility analysis, creation and evaluation of a detailed program schedule. 

- Lead transition of new products to production plant management and operations.

- Develop detailed project plan and manage with cross-functional team. Extrapolate and communicate key
project deliverables and due dates to team. 

- Implement a robust team communication strategy to direct the progress of the project according to the established development phases. Update management and customer on progress of program. 

- Lead mitigation plan and recovery actions to address any issues compromising the program in the area
of quality, time or cost. 

- Provide accurate forecasts and management for prototype, lab, and capital expenditure. 

- Maintain accurate project information in eLaunch database to update the cross functional
community. 

- Adherence to Phase Gate methodology and processes. Lead team coaching and training for team
members in NPI process. 

- Oversight of program costs to meet financial targets in operating income and investments costs.

- Monitor and ensure that product costs at launch are equal or better than that at quotation stage. 

- Ensure on-time spending of capital budget and closure of budget accounts. 

- Control cost overruns, prevent need for premium freight, expediting costs, and scrap costs by
successfully managing project timelines.

- Learn and maintain a thorough understanding of business functions to easily facilitate communication flow and decision making process. 

- Coordinate customer visits to manufacturing plants and attend meetings face to face at the customer location.

- Support Program Management Operating System (Annual Operating Plan, Programs Reviews, Escalations, Presentations to the leadership team)

- Support HON Velocity Product Development initiatives as required.
