Production Project Engineer

We are looking for a full time Production Project Engineer to join our F1 team based at Silverstone, Northampton.

Reporting to the Production Control Manager, the key functions of the candidate will be:

  • Responsible for production projects for major assemblies of our Formula 1 car
  • Manage these key projects from Design release through to race team delivery on time and ensuring all processes have been carried out to the required quality
  • Determine project component shortages and chase these by communicating to the rest of the Production team
  • Give continuous visibility of the status of projects to all stakeholders
  • Carry out continuous process improvement for the projects
  • Ensure change management is correctly carried out for the projects
  • Provide spec and build guides where required
  • Feedback to the Design team required manufacturing changes
  • Actively investigate and rectify and realised faults for the projects
     
     
    Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
  • Must have previous experience of high level Motorsport production, preferably Formula 1
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Must have knowledge of composite manufacturing techniques within Motorsport
  • Must have experience of using CATIA
  • A degree in mechanical/automotive engineering or similar (2:1 or above) is advantageous or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Must be well organised and delivery focused with demonstrable track record of on-time delivery in a high pressure environment
  • Must be an excellent communicator both written and verbal to all levels of the business
  • Must be able to build good relationships and contribute in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to produce quality work whilst working under pressure
  • Must have excellent attention to detail ensure high quality components are delivered within the timescales required
  • Must have the ability to help solve engineering based problems
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision
  • Must be computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Must be flexible and willing to accept new challenges
     
    The successful candidate will have experience of working within a low volume/high value precision engineering manufacturing environment, be highly organised with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.  This is a factory based role at Silverstone and a flexible approach to working hours will be required.
