Zircotec specialises in heat management. We are experts in plasma-spray processing, We have an excellent opportunity for a Production Engineer with strong technical and manufacturing Process Knowledge to work for an advanced thermal management solutions company based in Abingdon.

Zircotec specialises in heat management. We are experts in plasma-spray processing, production of high-performance surface coatings, heat shields and finishes. We apply this knowledge to a broad range of sectors including motorsport, general automotive, nuclear, aerospace, defence, niche vehicles and off-highway. Zircotec is poised for exponential growth within the next year.

Key responsibilities of our Production Engineer:

  • Assist the Production manager in ensuring Full resource utilisation by recognising manufacturing needs by analysing the Manufacturing Process
  • To assist with managing the process and operations within the production environment
  • There will be line management responsibility for a number small teams
  • Fully understand all aspects of the production process and provide key technical support and advice for team leaders. (Training on processes will be provided)
  • Leading Continuous Improvement Projects to increase the productivity of the current Manufacturing Process
  • Implementing Processes and Procedures required to ensure a Standard Manufacturing Process
  • Leading the introduction of new products from development to full-scale production
  • Identify mechanical / electrical / production / control constraints in the company and assist in finding suitable solutions
  • Conduct regular reviews on the current status of projects and processes
  • Assist with the deployment of Lean techniques throughout the site in all departments

Our ideal Production Engineer:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field however other qualifications or experience may be considered
  • Great attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Determined, self-motivated and can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • A technical mind with the ability to analyse problems and find solutions
  • Ability to understand and interpret detailed engineering drawings
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working within/ leading teams in an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Experience in motorsport, aerospace or other high technology industries
  • Understanding of Automotive powertrain technologies is preferred but not essential
