Cognito is seeking a Production Tech - Assembly & Packaging responsible for handling various assembly and packing of finished aftermarket Automotive components. We are seeking hardworking and motivated individuals to help us with our growing business demands. Works well as a team member and seeks input to refine processes.
Essential Functions
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Perform set-up and operation of labeling and packaging equipment.
- Inspects and removes defective products and packaging material.
- Hands-on processes of finished product assembly, packaging, and warehousing, including use of certain machine shop equipment and packaging equipment
- Operation of forklift (with CMS certification), pallet wrapping machine, pallet jack, carts, etc.
- Maintains records and the manufacturing/production area to comply with regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures.
- Folds & tapes boxes, apply labels, and stacks boxes on pallets according to packing procedures.
- Must ensure all machine safety, Quality and operational procedures and specifications are adhered to.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Must be willing to switch cross-train in other departments as dictated by business needs.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate and two years’ experience in component assembly, production, packaging and warehousing procedures
- Good working knowledge of packaging, assembly, painting, and production equipment and processes
- Modern warehousing and storekeeping procedures including shipping, receiving, proper and orderly storage, optimum space utilization and stock inventory procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Proper forklift operation, safety, and certification
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 5:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing warehouse environment.
Physical Demands
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
