As Product Owner at our International Headquarters in Haarlem, you have a key role in the success of Racers, Timers, Race Control and the engagement with Fans. Our products are used on all levels in the motorsport market including prominent customers like Indycar, Nascar and MotoGP.
MYLAPS is developing game-changing new technology that will set the standard for future solutions for Timing, Safety and Engagement. Based on this technology we will build new product lines, including software products.
You will play a critical role in shaping and delivering these software products. Being a Product Owner at MYLAPS means never a dull moment, international exposure and a dynamic environment with colleagues who either have a passion for sports, technique or both.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Leading and inspiring your colleagues to a successful result
- Translate portfolio strategy to product roadmaps
- Using an agile structure (i.e. SCRUM) to ensure a transparent and well-driven flow
- Guide a cross-functional agile product team with 4-6 developers and external suppliers
- Work in close cooperation with the portfolio manager Motorized and our Product Management team
- Ensuring up-to-date communication lines between all departments and stakeholders
Do you have:
- Strong affinity and experience in Motorports, in particular race control.
- Knowledge of being a marshall or racer is an absolute plus
- A hands-on, self-starting mentality
- A strong personality who is not afraid to use his influencing skills also in times of resistance
- Multi-level communications skills
- Strength to perform under pressure
- The experience to be an added value when it comes to further maturing our products
And are you:
- Willing and able to grasp the MYLAPS developments and products in a flash
- Software, hardware, and product savvy
- Pragmatic and result driven
- The type of person where the glass is half full instead of half empty
- Able to pro-actively monitor and adjust processes if needed
- Able and willing to work in weekends (+/- 1x per month) and upon demand
- Having a helicopter view
Does your package of knowledge and experience include:
- 5+ years of working experience in concepting, developing, and supporting software products
- 3+ years’ experience in the role of Product Owner (in the software industry)
- Higher vocational education or academic thinking and working level
- Completed Scrum certification is a plus
- The ability to work autonomously with a high level of responsibility
- A good command of English both written and verbally
- A knack for finding the best way to solve problems given the particular constraints
- Ability to empathize with stakeholders and users
