Job Description

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

The Weld Fume Product Manager will play a key role in driving top-line growth within “80” market segments through new product development, portfolio management and strategic marketing initiatives, while working toward bottom-line profitability improvements through ITW tool box utilization. The weld fume category consists of both fume extraction and respiratory product portfolios. Emphasis around:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive appropriate visionary and strategic category initiatives, in accordance with established long-range and annual plans
  • Manage category new product development initiatives
    • Generate, analyze, and interpret segment data that leads to product line rationalization and commercialization, including: industry trends, customer activity and competitive pressures
    • Collaborate with sales, engineering, suppliers and appropriate division personnel to streamline new product development process
    • Define and communicate data-driven value proposition for products and category
  • Improve category profitability and position for continued success
    • Direct P&L responsibility; analyze and report on product/category pricing, sales and performance
    • Analyze, recommend and coordinate all product lifecycle activities
    • Determine product pricing based on strategic analysis
  • Represent category as subject-matter-expert for internal team, channel partners and end users through both product and regulatory knowledge
    • Represent business at industry tradeshows, webinars and customer visits
    • Collaborate with functional areas to ensure marketing, sales and other product implementation strategies are implemented in an efficient, timely manner

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years Product Management experience
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-level projects & cross-functional teams from start to completion
  • Proven ability to analyze current business issues and translate to strategic actions
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills; P&L experience preferred
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, and solid decision-making abilities
  • Well organized, aggressive self-starter with the willingness to learn and grow
  • Demonstrated ability to present and facilitate in front of groups
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 35% travel required
