Product Engineer - Performance Kits

Position Description

  • Applies engineering principles to design performance intake kits for the automotive industry.
  • Work with Intake Kits Manager to ensure proper configuration of intake kits through K&N’s Business Management System and production cells.
  • Must be capable of complex techniques used in fabrication, forming and welding all types of metals.
  • Applies to all K&N and Airaid Intake kits, along with accessories.

Experience, Skills, & Education

  • Must know and understand basic principles used in engineering, machining, manufacturing and testing.
  • Must know the theories and workings of automobile engine compartments.
  • Must know how internal combustion engines work and how induction systems are designed for all types of motorized vehicles.
  • Must know the theories and workings of automobile (computer controlled) fuel injection.
  • Dynojet chassis dynamometer: Must know the proper procedures for testing vehicles accurately.
  • A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of experience in related area.
  • Experience with SolidWorks 3-D CAD software required.
  • Knowledge of mold design required.
