Your Responsibilities
- Designs shock absorber applications by working collaboratively with customers, Process Engineering & production personnel to meet customer specifications & expectations
- “Automotive suspension/shock absorber design experience preferred”
- Researches & analyses data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
- Ensures designs meet requirements, quality/cost goals and product specifications to achieve world class standards of reliability and manufacturability
- Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP ERP system
- Enter data for new products and product changes into systems and databases
- Maintain Engineering record files for new and existing products
- Participate in department's peer review design check process
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proven experience in design for automotive manufacturing (preferred)
- Strong background in automotive & suspensions (preferred)
- Proven ability to read and interpret customer specifications and industry standards
- Experience in using CAD software such as Solidworks and CATIA
- Working understanding of ERP systems i.e.) SAP with regard to material masters, bill of materials and classification systems (preferred)
- Strong analytical ability; good problem solver
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one & small group situations to Customers, clients, & others
- Strong interpersonal & teamwork skills
- Ability to perceive needs; self-starter and able to work without day-to-day direction
