As Principal Engineer within our ADAS team, you'll be responsible for the development of ADAS subsystems in our Lotus High Performance Sportscar projects. We're a historic sportscar brand with strong pedigree in developing cutting edge solutions in the automotive industry. This role will combine technology with our championship history, working to bring the best technological offering to our customers, putting driving experience at the heart of everything we do.
In conjunction with the Senior Electrical Management Team, realise the short,medium and long term objectives of the Electrical Department.
- Responsible for the engineering of all systems in the ADAS and Safety Systems domain for our current and next generation sportscars;
- Autonomous braking (types as per EUNCAP 5* requirements)
- Pedestrian detection
- Blind spot recognition
- Adaptive cruise control
- Airbag control electronics
- Autonomous driving capability (Level 3 or higher)
Overall responsibility for achieving timing, content, piece cost and investment targets for all systems in the ADAS domain. Project, timing and headcount plan development and management. Work collaboratively with the Electrical Team Leaders, PMO department and counterparts from other function groups.
Qualifications and Experience
- Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree with an overall grade 2:1 or higher.
- Expert understanding of ADAS systems and related aspects of electrical architectures, electrical packaging, wiring systems and software development.
- Proven experience in ADAS development
- Experience in CAN/Flexray/LIN
- Articulate, self-motivated, inspiring individual who can work well under pressure.
- Demonstrates resilience and fosters good working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc).
Occasional travel to China and within the EU will be required.
