Principal Engineer

Description

Principal Engineer will provide technical direction and guidance to engineers at the track, making key decisions regarding engine/chassis operation considering multiple factors including risk/reward and the big picture with respect to the racing program. Engineering the race car during track event to be optimized to the best performance, determine, analyze and resolve technical fault finding/problem solving. Further develop and implement powertrain/chassis strategies, software development, develop data analysis, car performance differentiators, develop analytics/analysis at track and clear procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications

Requirements include BS Degree in Mechanical (or similar) Engineering with emphasis in IC engines or vehicle performance or equivalent work experience. 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering support of high-performance race engines/chassis, and system design and development; and related mechanical and electronic systems; and previous technical writing and reporting required. 7 years of both theoretical and practical vehicle performance; voice radio systems, on-board telemetry; data acquisition systems; data analysis and problem-solving of experience. Ability to read schematic drawings. Hands-on experience with specialized measurement equipment. Competent hands-on skills with a variety of hand tools. Excellent computing skills, competent with main Microsoft products, Cosworth and McLaren analysis software. Ability to lead effectively; effectively interface with various personality types; data mining and tool creation; good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in team environment and under minimal supervision.
